Highbrook Park Playground Redevelopment

CLIENT: Muswellbrook Shire Council

Scape was engaged by Muswellbrook Shire Council to construct a bespoke, innovative, imaginative, experience for children of all ages. A custom made 10m tall and about 70m long Lizard features as the centrepiece for the play experience. Other experiences in the playground include a large low flying fox, merry go-round, large undercover picnic facilities and extensive landscaping creating nodes for small group picnics.

The civil & landscape works included the following main elements and scope:

  • Demolition & relocation of existing play equipment, shelter, and concrete
  • Excavation, earthworks and preparation of the site levels
  • Supply and installation of sub surface drainage.
  • Construction of plain concrete pathways
  • Supply and installation of concrete blade walls and concrete ‘tail’ including footings
  • Supply and installation of shelter, picnic tables, drinking fountain
  • Supply and installation of sandstone blocks,decomposed granite and concrete edging
  • Supply and installation of concrete footings for the Tower, ‘body’ rope play equipment and slide
  • Planting, fertilising and mulching of mass planting areas
  • Installation of play equipmentand of ‘body’ of lizard
  • Supply and installation of rubberised soft fall
  • Plant establishment and recurrent maintenance works
